Essential Maintenance for EOT Cranes
Maintaining your Electric Overhead Traveling (EOT) crane is not just about compliance; it's about ensuring operational efficiency and safety in your industrial facility.
1. Visual Inspections
Before beginning any shift, operators must perform a visual inspection of the wire ropes, hooks, and electrical panels. Look for signs of fraying on the wire ropes and ensure the hook latch is functioning correctly.
2. Lubrication
The hoist gearbox, wire ropes, and wheel bearings need regular lubrication to prevent friction and wear. Use the manufacturer-recommended industrial lubricants.
3. Brake Testing
Always test the hoist and cross-travel brakes without a load first, then with a safe test load. A failing brake is a severe hazard.
